Many times in spirituality we hear that one has to have faith and trust life to take care of everything.
But we don’t trust life, and rightfully so. Because how can we, most of our life we spend preparing for the worst and fearing the worst.
With that said I also understand that there is no point in living life unless there is an element of surprise present in life. Surely I want to be surprised and to trust life but I want it to be surprised by the good surprises, I want the good stuff. You know?!
Let me sink in a bit into the following words – “Trusting life”.
What is life but a series of images, sounds that are projected through the lenses that we call eyes and microphones that we call ears together with the other sensors that are planted in the body? Life experience is kinda depended on the sensors in order for us to be able to perceive life. So it is safe to say that life is depending on us to be experienced.
Life is essentially a relationship between the projection and the receiver of that projection. Just like a projector that projects a movie in a theater to a blank screen. Without the screen, there wouldn’t be the experience of a movie in existence. The same way without you there wouldn’t be an experience of life. There has to be some consciousness to receive what is being presented.
Now, when talking about trusting life, are we talking about trusting the outside projection of life that is being projected on us? Or perhaps we’re talking about the effect that, that projection has on us and the relationship that we have with it?
So maybe due to the fact that life is a relationship that includes you, you need to trust yourself first to be able to handle life’s projection that you’re currently experiencing.
Because if you don’t trust yourself that you can handle whatever life is throwing your way you get busy bitching about life instead of experiencing it, not trusting yourself, seeing yourself as the victim, blaming everything and everyone around.
But if you wake up to that, then you find out that everything that you don’t like about life is simply a result of your beliefs and your efforts to fight what has already happened, the past. However, sometimes we still find ourselves choosing to disagree with what is happening or already happened thus making life experience much worse.
Understand that you are like a blank canvas in a movie theater that receives the images, but unlike the canvas, you have a consciousness and awareness that is censoring and criticizing events that are being projected and presented to it. You don’t have to trust life, if you don’t see a reason that you should, don’t. But there is no reason not to trust yourself. If you take all the “bad” things that happened to you till this day and imagine being there for yourself, holding your own hand saying that you’ll get through this, because you did, you got through everything that happened to you in the past, then you would see all the unnecessary hell that you put yourself through.
Even if your life ends up being a series of misfortunes one after another, at least you will know that you have lived in peace with yourself, being there for yourself and not fighting, blaming, judging, agonizing about everything that has happened to you.
