Are you waiting for a change to come? Are you living your life anticipating for your future to arrive at your doorstep? Are you overwhelmed by your daily thoughts and emotions to the point that you can only think about escaping, and not being where you are.
Our inability to cope with life circumstance, causes us to resent them for how they make us feel. When we begin to dislike, oppose, negatively conclude what we experience, we enter a reality where our emotional state of being, depends on our circumstance.
The association between our emotions and circumstance makes us focused on changing our situation or suffering about the inability to change it. It is easier for us to complain about how unfair life is instead of facing how we feel. We’ll do a lot to ignore and distract ourselves from our emotional state of being by turning our attention to thoughts.
Emotional growth is about facing yourself as you are every moment in life. By doing so, one creates the habit of being able to go through everything life throws at him or her. Facing your own emotions without judgment allows you to see things from a higher perspective identifying the conditions you believe in, that tie you emotionally to circumstances.
If you’re trying to calm yourself down by convincing your mind that everything is going to be okay, you’re not paying attention to how you feel. All you’re doing is looking to create legitimate excuses for your emotions. That doesn’t last long.
If we want to begin to grow and change, sooner or later, we’ll have to face our emotions. We’ll have to open our hearts to ourselves. And if we cannot, we’ll have to admit that we can’t. Admitting to yourself that you’ve gone so far protecting yourself from your emotions, closing your heart to yourself, will begin the awakening of your heart.
We all need our heart’s love to be there for us so that we can embrace every insult, sorrow, hurt and fear by ourselves.
