Imagine a bird wanting to fly like the other birds.
But the moment it looks down from the nest it’s in, it gets scared. Days go by as this bird contemplates about taking that fearful leap. As times goes by the conviction about its inability to fly grows bigger. Months go by and the bird sees itself hopeless and helpless as it sinks deeper into fear and depression. Years go by, and now it spent its whole life in the nest convinced in its inability to fly.
What does it take to believe in oneself? To trust, to have faith? To look at fear and take that leap we so desperately want but afraid of?
Does it take courage? Resources? Approval?
Most of us wait to feel safe, for fear to go away before we do what we want.
But what is fear? What is before and beyond fear?
Fear is a consequence of past events, thoughts, conclusions, and beliefs.
Are you in the past now?
Are you anticipating to recreate the past or do you want to create a brand new future that has nothing to do with your fear from the past?
Why do you count on something that is not relevant such as fear of something that has happened?
The only reason your fears might come true if you keep thinking about them.
The only reason they stay is that you keep preparing for them.
How to take a leap from fear to the unknown?
The unknown doesn’t contain anything unless you put something in it, that is why it is the unknown.
It doesn’t have to be scary or unsafe.
It will be whatever you make of it.
See your fears as the representation of your past and not your future.
With that in mind dive into your fears right now and every time they rise to free yourself from them.
Allow yourself to be comfortable with your fears because the past has nothing on you right now.
You are now. And always will be now. You are separate from your past unless you decide that you’re not. Unless you choose to drag it along with you into the now and your future.
Notice how you feel. Notice the energy you put out. Is it coming from fear? Is it anticipating fear to go away? Is it waiting for a change to happen while you hide from fear?
Whatever you feel is reflected in the life you live. Whatever you feel you attract more of. Did you notice that?
When you’re depressed, you cannot appreciate life’s beauty. The second your inner emotional state changes to happiness, life becomes joyful. Do you think that life’s circumstance changed in an instant when your mood shifted from sadness to joy?
Life is always the same. We change our view and attitude towards life according to what we feel and believe.
Notice how your beliefs about life can ruin your day.
For example, let’s take two people with opposing political views on election day. Both vote for their preferred candidate. The person who voted for the winning candidate is thrilled while the other person is devastated. Did life do something to make one happy and the other upset? Or did the people create their own experience by choosing to believe in something?
How long will it take for you to realize that you create your own life? By understanding that you can change the way you feel, you can change every belief you have that makes you feel sad, miserable, powerless, hopeless, depressed.
Are you going to stay your whole life in your nest being afraid of life or are you going to spread your wings and fly?
