The only reason you know what fear is, is because you know what fear is not.
You know what love, peace, freedom, happiness is. It is not simply a knowing. You are connected to those things at all times. Otherwise, your consciousness would not be able to shift from one thing to the next.
Imagine that fear is on the one side of the coin you hold in your hand. The other side of that coin is all the things that fear is not.
It seems to us when we fear, we don’t have access to love or happiness. But if you understand that the only reason you know what fear is, is because you are also connected to everything else at the same time. That means that while you fear you are still connected to love.
You’re connected to fear, love, and courage simultaneously while you experience one or the other. If you weren’t, you would not be able to differentiate one from the other.
But how can we feel loved when we feel fear? How can we experience peace of mind when we fear?
Understand that the only reason you experience fear or worry right now is that you’re holding that coin in your hand with the side that says fear facing up. You forget about the other side of the coin and completely get immersed in fear or worry.
Remind yourself what is on the other side of that coin. Remind yourself that fear cannot exist without you knowing what fear is not. Then allow your consciousness to let go of thinking that you are trapped in fear.
Breathe. Allow the body to relax its grip on fear. Breathe. Don’t force or rush into relaxing. The body does the relaxing, not you. All you do is breathe. Don’t fight fear because it will take you deeper into more fear. Choose to relax with fear until you see the other side of the coin. Until love embraces you without you even asking it to.
